Too often Web 2.0 is positioned as a technology driven within IT organizations. In most case the Web 2.0 challenges and implications are approached assuming traditional hierarchies and control.

The presentation will try to clarify the impact of communities and social behavior on IT. External forces push Web 2.0 as unavoidable and necessary. Web 2.0 is essential to meet customer expectations and their demand for IT support. Web 2.0 offers business opportunities, but a change to organizational structure and attitude is required to explore possibilities, implement solutions, and create value.
